CCJ (County Court Judgment)

Last reviewed:

Definition: A court order in England, Wales or Northern Ireland stating that you owe a debt — recorded on your credit file for six years from the judgment date.

If you pay the full amount within 30 days the CCJ is removed from the register entirely. After 30 days, paying it gets it marked 'satisfied' but it stays for six years. You can apply to set aside a CCJ if it was issued in error.
