Definition: A consumer-credit protection that makes the credit card issuer jointly liable with the retailer for purchases between £100 and £30,000 paid for (even partly) by credit card.

Applies to faulty goods, non-delivery, and supplier insolvency. Does not apply to debit cards (where chargeback through the card scheme is the route) or to BNPL outside the £100 threshold.
