About this service
Money Guide is a free, independent UK money information service. We exist because getting straight answers about money in the UK shouldn’t depend on what someone is trying to sell you.
Every guide is written in plain English by our editorial team, fact-checked against UK rules from HMRC, the FCA, the PRA, the Bank of England and the relevant government departments, and reviewed at least every two months.

How we’re funded
Where a guide is naturally about choosing a product or service, we may link to providers we think are useful to readers; we will always disclose any paid arrangement on the page itself.
The guides themselves are, and will always remain, free to read. If a guide has helped you and you’d like to give something back, a donation to our partner charity World Aid Network is very welcome but never required.
What we don’t do
- We don’t give personal advice. Everything here is general information. For a recommendation tailored to your situation, speak to an FCA-regulated adviser.
- We don’t sell products. We’re not a broker, comparison site or introducer. We don’t hold customer accounts and we don’t handle money.
- We don’t cover non-UK rules. Every guide is written for people living in the UK. If you live outside the UK, the rules and protections we describe almost certainly do not apply to you.
