In short: Update your driving licence, passport, bank, HMRC, employer, NHS, insurers, pensions, utilities and council, choosing an order around travel and original documents. Tell each benefit separately. A name change alone does not require a new will; keep linking evidence for your executor.

You need a signed deed poll or a marriage or civil partnership certificate accepted for your chosen surname where required by the organisation. You can be fined up to £1,000 for not telling DVLA about a name or address change. Universal Credit does not update PIP, Child Benefit or Housing Benefit for you.
