Content updated:

Definition: A specialist property lawyer regulated by the Council for Licensed Conveyancers — an alternative to using a solicitor.

Licensed conveyancers handle residential and commercial property transactions in England and Wales. Check the CLC's register before instructing one, just as you would check the SRA's register for a solicitor.
