CASS (Current Account Switch Service)

Definition: The seven-working-day bank-account switching service run by Pay.UK, with a guarantee covering any errors.

Direct Debits, standing orders and incoming payments are moved automatically; payments sent to the old account are redirected for 36 months. Over 50 banks and building societies participate. Switching is free regardless of overdraft size.
