UK VAT is charged at 20% on most goods and services, 5% on some items such as domestic fuel and energy-saving materials, and 0% on essentials like most food and children's clothes. VAT-registered businesses reclaim VAT on purchases and charge it on sales. This calculator is for quick price checks — not for VAT return preparation.
